Where are you located?
I am based out of Waunakee, WI, a suburb of Madison, WI. I offer sessions in the surrounding Madison area and am always willing to travel further if requested.
Are you a business or hobbyist?
I am a registered and insured small business.
How long have you been doing this?
I have been in business since 2014 after I first picked up a camera when my oldest son was born.
There are so many photographers- What sets you apart?
You're right! There are so many amazing photographers in the Madison area, but I don't know that you'll find too many with an elementary education degree. With my 10+ years of experience working with kids, I consider myself somewhat of a "pediatric photographer" and I have a way with kids that you'll soon find to be something that truly sets me apart.
Do you retouch photos?
All images are hand edited using professional software. I will adjust colors, brightness, crop out distractions, perfect skin, whiten teeth, and work with each image individually to make sure it highlights the natural beauty of the subjects.
How many photos do I get to choose my "Keepers" from?
I do things a little differently than other photographers. My sessions are not time-based, but they are quality-based. This means, while I'm shooting, I'm making sure I have enough wall-worthy photos in the gallery so that you'll end up struggling to narrow it down in the end! As a general rule, micro sessions are usually 10-20 minutes and generate 20+ wall-worthy images to choose your 10 from. Petite sessions are usually 20-30 minutes long and generate 40+ wall-worthy photos to choose your 15 from. Deluxe sessions usually go up to an hour in length.
Whats your turn around time?
Wedding galleries will be delivered within 12 weeks. Newborn galleries will be delivered within 4 weeks. Family galleries will be delivered within 3 weeks. Certain times of the year are busier than others and may require a longer turnaround time, but I will always communicate that.
How do we get our photos?
Shortly after your session, you'll receive an email link to your gallery where you can view or download your images to print. All galleries are password protected and require a special code for downloading.
Can you help us with planning?
I take a hands-on approach with my clients and am available to answer any questions you have as you plan for your session. I can help with wardrobe choices and we will work together to choose a location that best matches our combined vision for your session. I also offer a complimentary styling service to all my clients.
What should we wear?
I always recommend neutral tones with gentle patterns, textures, and pops of color added in. I recommend mom and daughters wear dresses and curl or braid their hair for texture. Dresses are most flattering for most body types and provide texture and movement in the images.

What do we do if it rains?
I will photograph in whatever conditions you are willing to be out in (especially for weddings). For family sessions, reschedules due to weather happen all the time and I leave certain dates open for them. We'll make it happen!
When should i book a newborn session?
Your newborn session will be booked based on your DUE DATE. This will guarantee you a spot on my calendar whether your baby arrives early or late. Once they arrive, you reach out to me and we set a firm date for your session.
How far out do you book?
Weddings should be booked one year out. Newborn sessions should be booked shortly after finding out you are expecting. Family sessions should be booked at least 3 months out.
